Parkinson’s disease is a neurological condition that affects movement. Classic symptoms of Parkinson’s disease are tremors, rigidity and slowness of movement. The disease typically affects people over age 50 and continues to get worse over time. While there is no cure for Parkinson’s disease, there are ways to treat the symptoms. Get Healthy’s Jackie Hays tells us about a program at Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center just for Parkinson’s patients. The Music Therapy class is provided in partnership with the Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana. For more information about the music therapy program at Norton Healthcare, call (502) 629-2501.
